The videos are made by a script that takes photos at a regular interval and joins them together to create a video.
Here’s what happened over the last few days
The video is made from taking a photo every minute 24 hours a day for a few days. Because the Yellow Beer Machine is bathed in lights the image is quite visible at night.
Because the videos are updated daily we use FFMPEG and ImageMagick to automatically make the videos.
We add our own special kick by dubbing in music, automatically cut to the exact length of the video by some script wizardry!
These time lapse videos let you catch all the excitement of the beer brewing even if you can sit next to it all day.
These videos are made from images are taken every hour – so you can watch the whole brewing process!
Because the images are taken every hour the fluctuations in lighting conditions can make it hard to keep your eye on the beer.
The Yellow Beer Machine sits near an entertaining area so the lights are often being turned on and off along with the West Australian sun.
We’re hoping to make a waterproof housing for a web camera soon. This should let us get as close to the beer as we possibly can.
We’re happy to announce that all the videos on this site are not HTML5 compliant along with Adobe Flash player support
